Easter Farm Camp

By Cornelia

We had two full Camps, with a total of 36 children participating in the two weeks of Easter Farm Camp fun!

A wide range of activities filled our days.  Caring for the calves was a favourite for many children: feeding them, making their straw beds, giving them lots of cuddles and just watching them.

We planted potatoes, made a fire every day – even on the rainy day – cooked our lunches on it and had great fun with flint and steel making fires large and small.

Children watching the birth of a calf

In both camp weeks we were lucky to see a calf being born. What a special gift for each child to witness this magical moment of the beginning of a new life!

The children got to help with milking the cows and we then used the fresh milk to make cheese on our campfire.

Happy and mucky little farmers went home every evening and we hope they can join us on the farm again sometime.
